Information on
QS-9000 & ISO/TS 16949
It appears
the move toward TS 16949 replacing QS-9000 has begun.
The Big Three have
announced (Automotive Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force) that they
have no intention of revising QS-9000 to align with ISO 9000:2000.
The consequence of
this means that as of December 15, 2003, QS-9000 companies will no longer
be certified to ISO 9000. QS-9000 third edition, which is based on ISO
9000:1994 will remain in effect until December 14, 2006, however after
December 15, 2003 certification to QS-9000 will become a stand-alone certificate
and will no longer include ISO 9001 (for
more information see the latest IASG sanctioned interpretations).

Six Sigma Participants Pass
Tough Exam
We have some good news regarding the success of our last Six Sigma Black
Belt program.
Two of the participants, Liz Roberts of Wrigley Canada and Henry Van Oudenaren
of
Sigma-Aldrich Canada, decided to write the ASQ exam after taking our program,
which
prepares them for the exam. Although the exam has a very low pass rate,
both passed.
Congratulations, Liz and Henry!
